Uni Scholars Program
3rd - 8th grade candidates eligible for selection to this program must meet the following requirements. At least in the 70th percentile on the iReady in the subjects of reading and math No more than 2 B’s on report card 1’s and 2s in citizenship. (Upper Elementary - Middle School)
Student Council
Student Council focuses on service learning projects, school spirit and other school initiatives. Members are in 1st -12th grades and are given the opportunity to develop their leadership, planning, organization, and social skills by planning and participating in events that contribute to the school (spirit) and community. Candidates should exhibit the following traits: Respect, Responsibility, Citizenship, Caring, Integrity, Trustworthiness, Fairness, Perseverance, and Self-Control Students must have made an A or B in all subject areas and exhibit great citizenship. Service Squad
The Service Squad is a dedicated team of student leaders who help our K-2 students start their day safely and successfully. Squad members arrive at 7:45am to monitor younger students before school begins, escort them to their classrooms, and assist teachers with morning routines. Students who join Service Squad should be responsible, punctual, and enjoy helping others. (Upper Elementary)
Safety Patrol
The Safety Patrol team offers 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students an important leadership opportunity to help keep our school safe and orderly. Members arrive at 7:45am to monitor hallways to maintain a safe environment. Students who wish to join should demonstrate good attendance, positive behavior, and a willingness to help others. Michigan First Banking
Students gain real-world banking experience through Michigan First Credit Union's student training program. Working alongside credit union employees, students learn valuable skills as tellers, marketing experts, and security officers. This unique opportunity allows students to understand banking operations while developing professional skills in a hands-on environment. (Upper Elementary, Middle School & High School)
Stem Coding
All students receive instruction on coding. Beginning in elementary, students learn about computer science fundamentals such as algorithms, loops and conditionals. Upper elementary and middle school students learn about programming languages, such as Scratch, Python, and HTML. (Upper Elementary and Middle School)
Robotics
The goal is for all students to have an exposure to robotics and physical computing. Students meet once a week to build and code robots and circuits. (Middle School )
Girls Who Code
Girls learn about STEM fields and work on technology and coding projects. (Middle School)
United for Christ
A safe and fun place to learn about Christ with other fellow believers. Strictly ran and coordinated by high school students. (High School)
National Honor Society
Candidates eligible for selection to this chapter must meet the following requirements. Minimum cumulative grade-point average of 3.6 on a 4.0 scale without C’s, D’s, or F’s Citizenship marks of only 1’s and 2’s Good attendance and no tardies NO disciplinary issues. (High School)
NSBE Jr
The U's National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE Jr) prepares students for RC Car races while also practicing the Engineering Design Cycle for projects for the car and beyond. (High School)
AV
Students learn how to use the audio and visual equipments in the auditorium and elsewhere. Students run the lights, sound, projector, curtains, and more during assemblies and concerts. (High School)
Green House Club
Students maintain the U's Greenhouse and work on improving other green spaces around the building. (High School)
We Accept U
Students connect with each other and learn about LGBT news and history. This is a student run club. (High School)
Class of 2025
Students are elected to these positions by their peers to plan and run school and senior events. In addition they also fundraising for Prom and other senior initiatives. (High School)
Tea Club
This is a fun space to for students to get to know each other, and learn about the benefits of tea. (High School)
Seal of Biliteracy Club
Spa 3 and 4 students only. This group meets once a week to practice their Spanish and prepare for the Seal test. (High School)
African Student Association
Students connect through their ancestral lineage. (High School)
Card Players Club
Students learning and formulating strategy through card games. (High School)
Junior Optimist International Club
A youth organization which motivates students to embrace positive values and respect for ourselves and others while engaging in community service. (high School)

Students learned about their natural hair and embrace their natural beauty. (High School)
