Required Summer Work
As we slide into summer, we know that you may have concerns about whether they’re ready for their next math class. We are determined to do everything we can to help students keep learning. With that goal in mind, all students are required to complete the appropriate Khan Academy “Get Ready” course (or portion of course). It is expected to have this completed before the first day of school and students will receive a score for this work towards their first Card Marking grade. This work will help students master the most important skills they’ll need for the upcoming school year and figure out where they may have gaps before they enter that class. It provides videos and practice to focus on each student’s individual needs.
To get started, navigate to the class you are going into this fall, and take the Course Challenge. This will help you breeze past skills you’re already comfortable with. After the course challenge, go into units that you have not shown at least 70% mastery and work on the skills you need to get ready for the fall.
- Algebra 1 (Please complete Units 1-4 with at least 70% Mastery)
- Geometry (Please complete Units 1-4 with at least 70% Mastery)
- Algebra 2 (Please complete Units 1-4 with at least 70% Mastery)
- Precalculus (Please complete Units 1-4 with at least 70% Mastery)
- Statistics and AP Statistics (Please complete Units 1-4 with at least 70% Mastery)
- AP Calculus (Please complete Units 1-3 with at least 70% Mastery)
We know that by working on this periodically, while still enjoying summer break, you will greatly benefit when it comes to readiness for the fall.
